John GRAY was born on April 8, 1875, at Glascow, Scotland.

On September23, 1914, he enlisted with the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders Regiment, 16 Battalion, where he fought on the battle fields in France.

On September 5, 1916, he was wounded by bullet shrapnel to his left shoulder during the Battle of the Somme, in France.

On June 11, 1917, he was deemed medically unfit for further service and honourably discharged.

John GRAY died on April 5, 1961 (85) and is buried at the Mt. Lehman Cemetery.

He was a prominent founding member of Matsqui Unit #315.
