Claude (Clyde) Percival BRIDGE was born on July 1, 1894, at Sault St. Marie, Ontario.

On April 23, 1918, he was drafted under the ‘Military Service Act of 1917’, to the 2nd Depot Battalion, CEF, where he served in England and France. 

He was drafted with pre-existing medical injuries; deafness and his right thumb and middle fingers had been blown off by a revolver accident in 1910.  He was still deemed fit for military service.
